Cai Junyu, an excellent student who recently graduated from NITs School of Information Science and Engineering, is now working for an IT company in Beijing. His annual salary is around 200,000 RMB per year. His self-confidence and persistence helped him excel during his college years and to build his career. Today, Cai is a model of success.
One of Cais favorite sayings is, “Interest is the best teacher.” Obviously, he has benefitted greatly from pursuing his own interests. All through high school and college, and even now in his career, he does what he likes. When he was a student, Cai had his own style of learning – pay attention, practice, and summarize. He commented, “To learn by rote is useless, and an exercise-filled learning method is also unreliable. The key to success is to acquire formulas for how to learn, to acquire knowledge, and then to apply this knowledge flexibly.”
The year Cai Junyu graduated from college, 2008, was also the year of the global financial crisis. While many of his classmates were forced to lower their expectations of earning a high salary in the tough job market, he was fortunate to receive a high-paying position. Cai offered job-seekers the following advice: “When you are applying for an offer of employment, it is crucial that you have a crystal-clear objective. You must ask yourself, and answer honestly, the following two questions: “What do I want to do?” and “What can I do?” In the course of his lifes voyage, the winds are not always been favorable. Cai has encountered failure. As a result of these difficulties, he has learned how important it is to analyze and learn from ones failures, as well as to emphasize ones talents and accomplishments.
As a college student, Cai Junyu already had the self-confidence, passion and positive spirit to face lifes challenges. He believed then, and continues to believe, that one cant succeed simply by imitating other peoples formulas for success. This formula must come from within.ion and positive spirit to face lifes challenges.
